Story: From the makers of The Last Exorcism comes a boldly original vision of horror. What if the most chilling novel of all time was actually based on a true account of a horrific experiment gone awry? When he is suspended from his university job for his outlandish ideas, Professor John Venkenheim leads a documentary film crew to the rim of the Arctic Circle in a desperate effort to vindicate his academic reputation. His theory: Mary Shelley's ghastly story, "Frankenstein," is, in fact, a work of non-fiction disguised as fantasy. In the vast, frozen wilderness, Venkenheim and his team search for the legendary monster, a creature mired in mystery and drenched in blood. A film almost devoid of interest combining the worst aspects of the"found video" genre into something almost completely unStreamingable. Thefilm careens from an intriguing premise (that the Frankenstein monsteris real) to an appalling sequence of events, each more predictable thanthe last. Full of dreadful acting, character stereotypes, inanecharacter behavior and a litany of crying, screaming and heavybreathing as members of a documentary crew are popped off one by one bythe "monster." ***SPOILER*** Mary Shelley's monster was an articulatefellow who might be able to shed some light on his condition. Thisbrute just roars and clomps about in a big pair of winter boots andsays nothing. Why waste the opportunity to do something interestingwith such great source material? Bigfoot has a lot more character.

I am by no means an experienced movie reviewer but I've seen enoughfilms and have been an avid horror film buff for 30 years to know whenI've seen a terrible movie. I've seen the lowest budget to the majorstudio releases and every film in between. This is my first review onIMDb which should speak volumes since I decided to take time to warnpeople not to waste your time with this movie. You'd be better offtaking the hour and twenty minutes raking a cheese grater against yourforehead! Even the lowest budget shlockers offer something forentertainment. Whether it be excessive gore or scantily cladgirls...they do SOMETHING to try to catch your attention, even if it isthe most low brow base function.
As I Streaminged this I kept waiting for something to happen.....somethingPLEASE! It never delivers. A regurgitation of overly used clichés andzero originality is what you have in store for you. If you wantsomething to bore you to sleep, I suppose renting this is cheaper thana bottle of sedatives. Or if you have an overpowering desire to becomeso irritated at the rubbish that you are witnessing on screen to thepoint of shoving your finger in your eye and swirling it around a bit,then by all means Streaming this film. Otherwise avoid it like the plague.

I don't know if you can call this a "movie". It's not a horror moviefor sure. It's more of a theory. It's a "Bad Movie" theory. Take anddestroy a piece of literature like Frankenstein and insult it by notsticking to the book in basic details and by making the monster soundstupid with silly sound effects that are not scary. That's about allyou get, because you barely even see the monster. You may see it a fewseconds and you miss it, if you blink. That is ridiculous.
Then you take amateur actors and put them in fake found footagesituation which is unbelievable. They are looking to see ifFrankenstein was really in Alaska. Poor Mary Shelley. It's just reallynonsense. The dialog is long and boring and irritating the viewer withno relevance to the story. You feel like it never stops. Some of thelocations are okay if you like to see the arctic, but I can Streaming thaton National Geographic. This was just a terrible waste of my time andbad.
