Ooga Booga (2013) Review by billcr12 from United States
Ooga Booga is a little doll with a spear who kills bad, racist whiteguys. It starts off with a kids TV show where a drunken clown namedHambo is backstage drinking while a young woman in daisy dukes and tiedshirt cheers the little monsters on. They chant "Hambo" "Hambo" untilwe see the man sitting in a chair boozing it up and getting off whilereading a Playboy magazine. When he finally appears on stage, heinsults the tykes while almost molesting his nubile co-host.Unfortunately, it is the only funny moment in this film. A young blackmedical student is Hambo's best friend, and he is given the Ooga Boogadoll as a gift. The doll comes to life when the med student is killedby a redneck cop. The victims beautiful girlfriend, Donna, teams upwith the doll to seek revenge on the bad guys. The strangest part iswhen Karen Black pops up in a trailer playing a recluse who lives forher TV shows. Stacy Keach is cast as a corrupt judge, also dislikesblack people. Ciarra Carter, as Donna, has what may be the most bizarreshower scene in the history of cinema, as the horny devil doll Streamingesher washing up while he performs a solo sex act. Instead of this, lookfor "Trilogy of Terror" from 1975, where Karen Black also shared thescreen with a small, violent doll.

Ooga Booga (2013) Review by prideoffenway from Boston
This review is being kind to say the least, when I say that this is theworst B horror movie ever made. The writing is so poor it probably waswritten by a twelve year old. The only redeeming quality is howhilarious it is because of how badly it is made and how corny theacting is. I tried my best to stomach the horror of this slow moving, idiotic, so called horror. In the end I couldn't finish it for fearthat I would never get the forty five min remaining back. I feltashamed that I even entertained it past the opening credits. Whoevermade this film should be banned from making any more horrible horror's.Anyone who paid to see it should get a refund.

Ooga Booga (2013) Review by Ed_Blackadder from Mrs Miggins' Pie Shoppe
I thought this was the first Charles Band movie I had seen and as soonas it was over I had a look to see what else he had done. He's behindover two hundred and fifty titles which include 'Troll', 'Re-Animator'and 'Puppetmaster' which makes perfect sense as I thought his stylefamiliar and no wonder. Band has knocked out loads of these tongue-in-cheek horrors with varying degree of success but he has never changedhis unique style. I didn't enjoy his old movies as I did this one.Perhaps, now I'm far older than when I last saw one of his creations, Ican appreciate what he's trying to put across, but mostly, stopcriticising and simply enjoy it for the crazy film it is.

A young black man is murdered by corrupt cops, after he tried to help astore clerk who was shot in the head. As his spirit leaves his body, anelectrical surge causes it to go into Ooga Booga the warrior doll. Theclerk had just been held up by three incompetent gang bangers, and theAfrican American guy was only trying to help when the redneck copsarrived and accused him of the killing. The gang bangers and dirty copsare all controlled by one person, but now it's time for revenge andlittle Mister Booga is in the mood to kick ass.

I don't quite know why but I loved this stupid movie and will no doubtStreaming it again soon. It's one of those 'so bad it's good' sort offilms, with terrible acting and corny scenes. For example, when ourhero is killed and his girlfriend finds out she starts talking to hispicture which looked like a scene from Grease. I thought she was aboutto start singing. The three gangsters were really funny too, with thebig heavy guy playing the dummy and being terrible at it. As a matterof fact there were only three actors who gave acceptable performancesand one of them was Stacy Keach.

Charles Band handle the puppet well when you consider that not once didwe see Ooga Booga running are anything else other wiggle from side toside and go "Bwahahaaa" (I tried to write the sound down and came upwith that!). Anyhoo, it's funny. If you like comedy horrors where thehumour is in the bad acting then you will absolutely love this crazyflick.

Recommended, but not for everyone.

Score: 6/10
